Supercell has dated the first ever Clash Royale global competitive season, dubbed the Spring Season. The league will kick off on May 11, with thousands of players competing in open tournaments to prove themselves the Clash Royalists. Players will also be competing for a share of a $1m prize pool.
Clash Royale, for the uninitiated, is a mobile battler that plays like a mix between a MOBA, card battler and a real-time strategy title, a casual strategy game playing out over a couple of minutes of frantic play. Characters in the game are called Royale’s, and it shares a universe with Supercell’s biggest mobile hit, Clash of Clans.
The first stage will be the Open Play phase running from 11-14, directly appearing inside the game in the form of custom tournements. After this, competitors will be put into brackets of 1,024 players with the top 8 from these moving on to a series of playoffs to try and work out who is really the best at Clash Royale. The finals will take place in London at the end of 2017.
Want to compete? You’ll need to be Level 8, residents of your respective competitive region and at least 16 years old. You’ll need to register on the Clash Royale website to take part, too.
