Kinectimals developer to deliver new family title; Disney studios left out of the loop

Disney partners with Frontier for new Kinect game

Frontier Developments, the longstanding UK indie studio, is building a new family-oriented Kinect title following the commercial success of its previous project Kinectimals.

The new game, called Kinect: Disneyland Adventures, is a virtual tour of the popular theme park complete with various minigames in each game world.

Frontier Developments is gaining reputation as a keystone Kinect studio, having previously exceeded expectations with its Kinectimals launch title.

It is not known how much sway Disney Interactive had in arranging the project. The publisher had, by the time the game was commissioned, a number of internal game development studios.

Throughout the year Disney has made cutbacks to its game development workforce, and in some instances has closed studios down completely.

Kinect: Disneyland Adventures is due for release before 2012.
