Microsoft yet to inform Twitch when it will be ready to make the service available on Xbox Live

Xbox One users must wait another few months for Twitch

Xbox One users with have wait longer before they can broadcast their gameplay videos on Twitch TV, the streaming provider has said.

In a tweet from the broadcaster, Twitch said that it will take “a few more months” for Direct Broadcasting on Microsoft’s latest console, and is awaiting an update from the platform holder.

Twitch streaming and sharing capability was unveiled at Microsoft’s E3 2013 press conference. Only Xbox Live Gold subscribers will have access to the services that allow users to upload gameplay directly to Twitch, transmit and watch other streams.

Microsoft said planned to make Twitch available on Xbox One in the first half of 2014.

While Xbox One users are still waiting, PlayStation 4 gamers have been chalking up lots of number on Twitch already. Twenty per cent of all Twitch broadcasts came from the PS4 during the Christmas period.

So far, 1.7 million gameplay streams have been broadcast by PS4 users via Twitch and Ustream.

Game streams have also attracted nearly 22 million spectate sessions, with broadcasts totally more than 55 million minutes.
