Creative Skillset is conducting a survey of the UK’s creative media industries, and games companies are encouraged to participate.
This is the first industry-wise census since 2012 and aims to paint a complete picture of key sectors such as games, film, animation and more. The survey will identify the industry’s gender and ethnicity balance, as well as working patters and key occupations.
The census is now open, and games developers have until Friday, October 30th to fill in this online questionnaire.
“The Creative Skillset Employment Census of the creative media industries is an important measure of the size and diversity of the games industry,” said Giselle Stewart, Ubisoft’s director of UK corporate affairs and chair of Creative Skillset’s Games Skills Council.
“I urge all employers to take part because the results will directly influence investment in skills and training within our sector from the government and industry.”
The 2012 census revealed that just 5.4 per cent of the creative industries’ workforce was comprised of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people.
