Creative Skillset opens Workforce Survey for games

Creative Skillset has opened its Workforce Survey for developers to share opinions on the game industry.

The survey which also covers animation, Film, VFX and TV, is used to help inform how funding is invested to develop skills and training programmes. The survey is linked to schemes including the Skills Investment Fund, which will total £22m when combined with match-funding in 2015.

Studio employees and freelancers will be asked how they got into the sector and what the current key skills needed and barriers to progression are in the creative industries.

The deadline for the survey is November 21st. For more information and to take part, visit the official website.

“The Creative Skillset workforce survey of 2014 is a unique chance to play your part in helping us identify skills and training needs in the creative industries,” said Creative Skillset CEO Dinah Caine.

“Your contribution will help us develop new and better ways to plug those gaps, directly benefiting its workforce.”

The last Creative Skillset Workforce Survey took place in 2010 and saw more than 3,000 respondents. The survey resulted in £1.4m of investment in the training of individuals after it was noted training fees were a barrier to entry for many people in the creative industries.
