Cross-platform play arrives in Rocket League

Developer Psyonix has announced that Rocket League players will today be able to indulge in some cross-platform online multiplayer between Xbox and PC.

It’s the first Xbox One game to offer the functionality, which was first revealed back in March.

Psyonix has also said that Rocket League has to date welcomed nearly 2m players on Xbox One, a platform on which it released in February of this year. The game was released on PS4 and PC in July 2015.

"We’re really excited to bring Xbox One and PC players closer together," Psyonix VP Jeremy Dunham said.

"Cross-network play has been something that Xbox One gamers have been asking us for since the day we launched, and thanks to Microsoft’s new cross-network policies, we’re proud to give it to them."
