Denis Dyack and XBLA's Edery also on board as conference schedule firms up

Crytek’s Cevat Yerli set for Lyon GDC keynote

The first speakers for December’s Lyon GDC have been confirmed, with Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli bagging a slot as keynote speaker.

In a talk called The Making of Crysis, Yerli will discuss the making of his studio’s new game, due for release in November, which Lyon GDC reps call "certainly one of the most mediatised European games". Crysis’ DX10-pushing CryEngine 2 foundation has made it a hotly discussed game in the media and the studio’s engine has found a number of licensees.

Elsewhere, Silicon Knights’ president Denis Dyack is to host a talk on his widely-reported views regarding a ‘One-Console Future’. The talk will look at what Dyack says is the "inevitable" outcome of competing hardware formats – a single, unified games platform to develop games for.

Xbox Live Arcade’s worldwide games portfolio planner David Edery is also on board, delivering a session that looks at how developers can compete with free games such as ad-supported games, free games backed by microtransaction and user-created games like those on Kongregate.

A number of other session speakers have been announced as well, with reps from the likes of NCsoft and the Vancouver Film School to talk about the latest innovations and movements in games production and design. Find out more at the official site.

Lyon GDC runs on December 3rd and 4th at the Centre de Congres in Lyon, France. The event is put together by Connection Events and GDC organiser CMP.

Connection Events is also hosing Game Connection Europe alongside the event, running form December 4th to 6th.
