Dan Dawkins takes global editor in chief role at Gamesradar+

Daniel Dawkins has been named the global editor in chief of Gamesradar+.

Dawkins was previously the games group editor in chief for the UK.

He replaces Sophia Tong, who has taken a new role at Future. She is working on ‘creative brand strategy and business development’ within the global revenue team.

GamesRadar+ is Future’s primary games website, and hit 11.3 million unique users in December.

I’m thrilled to be joining GamesRadar+ at this stage in its evolution and can’t wait to work with our record breaking team on exciting plans for 2016 and beyond,” Dawkins said.

We’re focused on delivering the sharpest news, features and opinion on the world’s greatest games, TV and films. Our leisure time is precious, and GamesRadar+ will take you closer to the moments that matter: from wild Star Wars: Episode VIII conspiracy theories to Fallout 4’s ocean-floor secrets. Y’know, the important stuff. I look forward to seeing you and can’t wait to continue the conversation on GamesRadar+”

Future’s content and marketing director Nial Ferguson added: We are delighted to have Dan as the new Global Editor in Chief of GamesRadar+ at what is an extremely exciting time for the brand. Dan’s work to date with the UK’s games division has been exceptional, and he was the natural person to continue to drive GamesRadar+ forward.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Sophia for her four years on GamesRadar. She signs off having seen GamesRadar+ deliver consecutive record-breaking traffic months.”
