Dark Souls 2’s third DLC delayed

Bandai Namco has revealed that Dark Souls II’s Crown of the Ivory King DLC has been delayed.

The third and final part of the Lost Crowns trilogy DLC had been due for release this Wednesday (September 24th) but will now arrive on September 30th on Steam and Xbox Live and then on October 1st on PSN.

No reason has been given for the delay.

The Ivory King content will be available for 7.99, or comes as part of the already available 19.99 season pass. Crown of the Sunken King and Crown of the Old Iron King are already available.

All signs suggest that Ivory King will be the game’s final DLC release.

UPDATE: From Software gave dlcentral the following reason for the delay: The shear [sic] scope of Crown of the Ivory King facilitated the need for a bit more time to deliver to level of polish that the previous two chapters of The Lost Crown trilogy embodied. It is From Software’s intent to only release Crown of the Ivory King with the highest level of quality possible.”
