Mod-turned-full-fat horror title, DayZ, has surpassed 400,000 downloads in its first week on sale.
Developer Bohemia Interactive revealed the news on its Tumblr page.
The game was released in early access form on Steam on December 16th for £20 (€24).
Despite the thousands that have already expressed their interest in the game, Bohemia has reiterated that this early version is not the final product, and thus will contain a number of bugs.
“It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs,” said the developer on its DayZ Tumblr page. “We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle.”
DayZ is a multiplayer survival horror game that evolved from a mod, created by Dean Hall, for World War II tactical shooter Arma 2.
The mod version is still being update by its community, while Hall himself has been working on the standalone game along with Bohemia.
