Dead Island numbers grow after successful event

Dead Island had a strong reception at its Melbourne preview party last week, and QV Software has confirmed an increase in day one numbers.

The preview party, held at the Mana Bar in Fitzroy, saw consumers able to get an exclusive world-first demonstration of the game, and was only available to select competition winners. The zombie-tiki themed event gave press their first hands-on time with the game, and the response was generally positive.

AusGamers said: "It’s a great looking game, with great scenery, zombie and character features."

PALGN said it: "could just be the perfect holiday destination for gamers."

Shortly after the event, QVS confirmed to MCV that it has had to increase day one numbers on the title from the original forecast.

Dead Island is releasing on 9th September for PS3, 360 and PC.
