Defiance breaks SyFy records, reaches 1m registered players

Trion Worlds’ multiplayer online shooter Defiance is off to a strong start.

The Defiance TV show, which will integrate with the game as the pair develop, has broken new records on its host station SyFy attracting 2.7m viewers for its debut episode.

GameSpot reports that the show also became SyFy’s most-watched scripted series debut for adults in seven years”.

The game’s doing alright, too, and has already attracted over 1m registered players.

In the process players have to date killed 500,000,000 hellbugs, driven 50,000,000 miles and battled 1m Arkfalls.
