Last week, the HTML5 Developer Conference came to town. Cross-platform developers descended on downtown San Francisco to meet and share knowledge about developing in HTML5, inspiring each other with development techniques for their next apps.
Intel Vice President and General Manager of the Developer Relations Division Christos Georgiopoulos kicked off the event with his keynote speech ‘From Grassroots to Green Pastures: HTML5, Freedom of Choice and the Era of Integrated Computing’, giving attendees an insight into the next step in app development.
Other presentation highlights included Dale Schouten’s ‘WebApp to DesktopApp with Node Webkit’ and of course the ‘Intel XDK Overview: An HTML5 Mobile App Dev Tool’, which explored emulation, debugging and the new UI design tool: App Designer.
App Designer is set to be a really useful tool for, you guessed it, designing your apps. Read more about:

• Inserting components with App Designer
Outside of the presentation theatre, the Intel Software booth was busy, fuelling attendees with everything they needed for developing on Android. The latest and greatest tools were demonstrated and the folks from the Intel Developer Zone were on-hand to answer development queries. They had even set up a ‘Geek Bench’ for that. The comfy couches and free coffee was a bit of a bonus, too!
