Destination Brazil brings the World Cup to Xbox One

Microsoft has announced a host of new World Cup functionality for Xbox One.

It’s going by the name Destination Brazil and will arrive on the console on June 12th – the same day the tournament kicks off with hosts Brazil squaring off against Croatia.

First off there’s Brazil Now, a customisable experience that can be snapped to anything you’re doing on the console that provides constant World Cup updates and stats.

It can be customised for your favourite team and offers real-time stats when watching the live matches – the first time that such smart-TV functionality has been available in the UK. There are also interactive polls regarding such things as referee decisions and score predictions.

Furthermore, Xbox Live Gold membership is not required.

Next up is Every Street United, meanwhile, is an interactive TV show in which former Arsenal and France forward Thierry Henry and Dutch legend Edgar Davids go out in search of unrecognised street football talents. That kicks off on June 15th.

Microsoft has also partnered with football-themed YouTube channel Copa90 to offer a number of their services for free throughout the tournament.

In addition, Microsoft Stores in North America will offer all those who buy a copy of FIFA 14 an exclusive mini Xbox ball

Everything has also been designed to work with EA’s FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: FIFA World Cup mode, too.
