Lynne Kilpatrick, who works at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, was honoured for her hard work for the game industry over the years at the Develop Awards 2014 last night with a special Services to Video Games award.
Though many may not recognise her name, Kilpatrick’s work behind the scenes has been key to promoting the game industry in government and the benefits it can offer the UK.
Her work was instrumental in getting the government to formulate a plan for games tax relief, which was finally approved after years of work in April this year.
