Partner spotlight: InnoGames

For any readers who might not know you, tell us a little more about your company and its goal.
InnoGames is a provider of free-to-play online games. We focus on long-term motivating games with a spotlight on strategy games. Our best known games are Tribal Wars – online since 2003 –, as well as Grepolis and Forge of Empires.

What differentiates you from similar outfits? What’s unique about you?
Unlike most competitors, we consider ourselves a product-driven company. We believe that the quality of the product is still the most decisive factor in the success of a game. Of course, you also have to market it smartly, but without an outstanding quality, you will not have any chances on today’s free-to-play market.

What excites and/or encourages you about the games industry and games development today?
The gaming industry is extremely dynamic, global and at the same time familial. This is quite a unique mixture.

Regarding the Develop Awards finalists, what does it say to you about the industry and development today?
The variety of finalists shows the variety in the gaming industry. From triple-A to Indie, from retail to free-to-play, from consoles to mobile. I believe that this increased variety made the industry even more appealing in the last years.

Do you have a message for the finalists?
Great job, guys! We’re looking forward to having a great evening with all of you!
