Eighth Develop conference to take place between July 9th and 11th

Develop in Brighton opens call for speakers

The Develop in Brighton conference 2013 has opened its call for speakers.

This year’s event will take place between July 9th and 11th, and will kick off with ‘Innovation and Change’ during the Evolve sessions on the first day.

Evolve focuses on emerging platforms, new business models and innovation in games tech.

The Develop in Brighton conference has been hugely successful since its inception in 2006, and last year saw a 22 per cent rise in the number of indies attending the conference among the plethora of well-established industry developers also in attendance.

The conference also covers a wide range of diverse programs with tracks covering areas such as business, coding, game design, art and audio. There will also be a wealth of opportunities for networking to anyone who attends.

“Game developers are passionate about what they do and we want to hear from anyone who feels they can contribute, whether by helping to raise awareness of issues, presenting technological advances, or discussing areas of importance in games development today and beyond,” said Tandem Events’ managing director Andy Lane.

“This is a time of real change in the industry and anyone who has a stake in that should be interested in involving their fellow developers. Crowdfunding, new console platforms, connected TV, for example, are all issues that directly affect us and will be among burning issues for the year ahead.”

Last year’s keynote speaker BioWare Mythic studio GM Eugene Evans added: “It was a pleasure to deliver the keynote for the Develop Conference. It clearly represents an amazing opportunity for both new and experienced developers to network and learn about the latest thinking in gaming. The collective knowledge of speakers at a smaller less formal event can’t be surpassed.”

For more details and to submit a proposal to speak at the Develop in Brighton Conference, visit the official website.

The deadline for submissions is March 15th.
