Q.U.B.E., Lume and The Missing Ink nominated to win prize

Develop in Brighton reveals Indie Showcase top ten

The shortlist for the top ten Indie Showcase games to be displayed at Develop in Brighton has been revealed.

The showcase has been designed to promote unpublished and independently developed titles to the public, with all ten titles available to play at the conference.

Shortlisted games include State of Play Games’ PC puzzle adventure title Lume, RedBedlam’s mobile and PC MMO The Missing Ink and Toxic Games’ physics puzzler Q.U.B.E.

The winner of the Indie showcase will be announced on July 12th by a judging panel of industry professionals. Criteria to be taken into consideration will include graphics, gameplay, tech achievement and originality.

Delegates will also be able to vote for their favourite title in the People’s Choice Award.

“Over 60 games were submitted for this year’s showcase – almost double that of last year – and it was a genuine pleasure getting to try all of them out in order to narrow it down to the final 10,” said Assyria Games Studio MD and head of the judging panel Adam Green.

“It was especially great to see the range of titles; with everything from a full-fledged RTS game, to a game made entirely from checkboxes.

"All the developers who submitted titles really raised the quality bar this year with some truly exceptional titles having been submitted, making our job of narrowing them down to just ten incredibly tricky.”

Develop in Brighton will take place between July 10th and 12th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, and will include various tracks and keynotes from industry experts such as Valve’s Jason Holtman and Eidos life president Ian Livingstone.

The Develop Awards will also take place during the Develop in Brighton conference on July 11th, with more than 500 people expected to attend representing companies from around the world.
