EA Canada revealed as most successful studio of September as FIFA 16 outsells Metal Gear V

Develop Studio Sales Charts: Kojima fails to topple FIFA

Hideo Kojima released his final Metal Gear Solid game this month, but it wasn’t enough to put his studio at the top of Develop’s Studio Sales Charts.

The rankings are measured by UK revenue at retail using data provided by GfK Chart-Track, and show Kojima Productions in second place behind FIFA 16 developers EA Canada

As always, please note that digital sales are not included in these calculations, nor are retail transactions made outside the UK. The chart is intended to provide a snapshot of the most bankable studios in the world today.

With the traditional September slew of triple-A hits, most of the developers in the top ten were publisher-owned or working with a major triple-A firm.

Bungie was the highest ranked independent studio, coming in at No.3 thanks to the release of Destiny expansion The Taken King. Meanwhile, Until Dawn dev Supermassive Games was the most successful UK studio at No.5.

Traveller’s Tales, which dominated in August, has been knocked down from No.1 to No.9 with LEGO Jurassic World.
