There’s just over two weeks to go until we publish the full 2011 edition of the Develop 100 in association with Metacritic.
But today we’re offering an early glimpse of the stats to reveal that 19 countries are represented in the ranking this year, making it our most international Develop 100 yet.
Core games industry markets like USA, Japan, Canada and the UK are of course represented (with North American development teams taking up over a third of the ranking).
However emerging markets and new hubs for games development are emerging. Teams from India, Slovakia, Spain, New Zealand, Czech Republic and Russia are in the list, as are multiple teams from Australia, South Korea, Norway France, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
Those teams come in all shapes and sizes, from one-man outfits to publisher owned super-studios. But you’ll have to wait until the start of June to find out who the companies in the list are.
In the meantime, you can get involved in the Develop 100 and raise the profile of your games development company – contact Alex.Boucher@intentmedia.co.uk for more details.
