Wargaming has closed the Seattle branch of its mobile division WG Cells.
60 jobs have been lost in the closure, according to Pocket Gamer. Wargaming has told the site this closure is part of its plans to move its mobile development teams elsewhere.
All future development of Wargaming’s mobile titles will be handled in other locations, with some staff moving to the Cyprus ‘cell’, while the Ukraine ‘cell’ in Kiev will lose a maximum of four staff.
WG Cells Seattle was originally known as DropForge Games, until it rebranded last October to bring it in line with the brand. It has since released two titles – Smash Squad and Operation: New Earth. A soft launch title, Galaxy Rangers, appears to still be operational.
