Intel Developer Blog: ‘Go Big or Go Home. Wireless Big Screen HD from Mobile Android Devices’ takes place November 19th

A projector in your pocket: FREE eSeminar on developing Android apps with big screen capabilities

We all look back on the first mobile devices with fond amusement. They really were bricks, weren’t they?

Then they became so small you could fit them in the palm of your hand. A growth spurt followed, and particularly since the advent of tablets and phablets, there has been no ‘average size’ for mobile devices. Sizes now vary greatly, but they all share an essential requirement: to be able to host content for bigger external screens.

The ‘beam’ capabilities of some devices have been really useful for users who find themselves streaming presentations from their Android smartphones. WiDi technology is behind all this, and you can find an introduction to WiDi here.

Being able to utilise this function is essential for business apps in particular, so I’m really excited to attend a live eSeminar on just that next week.

The latest Android devices really embrace ‘second-screen’ capabilities through HDMI output and wireless display technologies, like Intel WiDi, available on new Android Intel devices. These benefit from low latency and high framerates even when outputting to full HD 1080p displays. The session will teach you how to develop Android apps that take advantage of Intel WiDi technology.

‘Go Big or Go Home. Wireless Big Screen HD from Mobile Android Devices’ will be happening on November 19, 2013 at 5pm GMT. You’ll be in the capable hands of Xavier Hallade, Technical Marketing Engineer at Intel Software and Service Group, and Aaron Goldberg, Moderator at QuinStreet.

What’s more, attendees will be automatically entered to win a new Samsung Galaxy Tab! Race you there!

In the meantime, take a trip to the Intel Developer Zone to see how you can enhance user experience with the right WiDi tech.
