Horror title hits landmark in sales three months after October release

Alien: Isolation sells 1m worldwide

Creative Assembly’s terrifying Alien: Isolation has sold one million units worldwide.

The horror game, which received both mixed reaction and some critical acclaim following its release in October, tells the story of Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda as she ventures to the Sevastopol to discover what happened to her mother following the events of the first Alien film.

“It has been fantastic to watch the reviews come in and read of the reactions of players, hidden in the bowels of Sevastopol Station, terrified to make the next move,” said Alien: Isolation creative lead Alistair Hope.

“We set out to make the Alien game we had always wanted to play and from these figures it seems we also succeeded in making the Alien game another million wanted to play. We hope many more gamers enjoy Alien: Isolation in 2015.”
