Amazon’s Android App Store celebrates first birthday

The Amazon Android Appstore is celebrating its first birthday with a sale of many popular titles.

The company launched the appstore with 4,000 apps, but says it now boasts over 31,000, and "millions" of downloads.

Amazon is not traditionally forthcoming about specific sales statistics.

Apps on sale for the celebration include: Plants vs. Zombies, Fruit Ninja, Wolfram Alpha, Dr. Seuss’s The Shape of Me and Other Stuff, TETRIS, PAC-MAN, The Lost City, and MONOPOLY.
