Nintendo also reports 30 per cent increase in 3DS sales over last eight months

Amiibo sales surpass seven million in US

Nintendo has sold more than seven million Amiibos in the US since November last year, a new report claims.

As reported by VentureBeat, market research firm The NPD Group also stated that 3DS sales had increased by 30 per cent during the last eight months.

The platform holder has also sold over 600,000 copies of Wii U shooter Splatoon in the US. In June, it was announced that worldwide sales of the game had surpassed one million, with US purchases accounting for 476,000.

Nintendo’s Amiibos have seemingly proven hugely popular since the firm entered the toys-to-life market in November 2014, selling 14.7 million units as of June 30th.
