Andy Walsh, writer of Ubisoft’s recent Prince of Persia reboot, won the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Games Award last night at a ceremony in London.
The award, which was judged by the staff of Develop, celebrates games writing done by British writers working domestically or abroad.
Walsh beat out Mark Hill, who worked on Fable II, and Tom Edge, lead writer of Routesgame.com.
"The standard of the entries this year made the decision process difficult," said head judge Ed Fear.
"Each of the nominees pushed forward the craft of games writing in a different way, by exploring player agency, dynamic narratives or multimedia storytelling. It was an honour for Develop to be involved in the decision process for such a cutting-edge discipline."
