Mobile specialist App Annie has purchased another analytics firm in an effort to boost the accuracy and reach of its data.
Marketing analyst AppScotch is the third such company picked up by App Annie in two years, after it acquired Distimo in 2014 and Mobidia last year.
AppScotch was founded back in 2013 and set out to “bring transparency “ to mobile marketing.
App Annie complemented its various rounds of funding since launch with further investment to the tune of $63 million in January. It has now gathered over $135 million in backing.
“Apps are changing the world, creating amazing opportunities for individuals and for businesses of all sizes,” said App Annie CEO and co-founder Bertrand Schmitt.
“We help companies seize these opportunities. We are always looking for technologies and talent that enhance our products and mission.
“The AppScotch team shares our passion for apps and has developed some exciting complementary technology. App Annie is developing its next wave of innovative products that clients will find invaluable in planning their app development and marketing strategies and this acquisition supports this development.”
