Audio Factory, an Israeli start-up founded by previous Psygnosis and SCEE audio project manager Philip Morris, has announced a new technology to dynamically synthesise sound effects.
The tech, which consists of a software SDK for developers and an audio card for end-users, aims to eliminate the use of sampled sound recordings as effects by using data from the graphics and physics engine to model sound interactions.
The company claims that the technology can effectively adapt to different numbers of processors and can dynamically reduce the quality of generated effects should available system resources drop.
