Montreal studios recruiting online producer for next entry in blockbuster sci-fi series

BioWare hiring for Mass Effect 4 multiplayer team

BioWare Montreal is currently hiring for a new online producer that will oversee multiplayer development in the next Mass Effect game.

The job listing on EA’s careers site calls for someone with at least seven years’ experience as a producer in the games industry, and ideally a mastery of online business models and knowledge of console development.

The successful applicant will be tasked with creating and driving the vision of the multiplayer experience for the next game, helping the team "prioritise highest business value features and set quality targets". They will also be responsible for conveying fan feedback to the team and ensuring player expectations are met.

Once the game is launch, the producer will be "responsible for strategic oversight and operating live services" and "make key daily/weekly decisions in providing the right mix of features, content and investment into the live services", implying the multiplayer will have long-tail support.

While the first two Mass Effect titles were single-player only, Mass Effect 3 add a well-received multiplayer component, albeit with microtransactions that met with mixed responses.

BioWare has shown little more than initial artwork for the next Mass Effect, as well as teasing a few new IPs the studio is working on. No doubt more will be revealed at E3 in June.
