Game dev friendly facility seeks trio of 'Entrepreneurs in Residence' to support new outfits

Birmingham Science Park bolstering start-up support

Start-up and tech company facility Birmingham Science Park Aston is seeking three new ‘Entrepreneurs in Residence’ to support the tech companies to which it serves.

The Science Park houses tech companies including games developers – currently SoshiGames is in residence at the organisation’s Faraday Wharf site – and offers support to studios locally and nationally.

Of the three entrepreneurs currently being recruited, two will focus on the technology companies fostered within the project’s Entrepreneurs for the Future centre, while one will focus specifically on climate change start-ups.

“Our Entrepreneurs for the Future centre has been highly successful in its first three years, but the time is now right to drive a step change," said Dr David Hardman, CEO of Birmingham Science Park Aston. "We are seeking high calibre, dynamic, respected Entrepreneurs in Residence to be ambassadors for our incubation programmes. Using their contacts, knowledge and experience, we are looking to them to turbo-charge the support activity we offer to ensure the fast growth of our innovative start-ups.

“With the Park widely regarded as the focal point of Greater Birmingham’s tech scene, it is also critical that we further engage and stimulate the region’s entrepreneurial community. We are particularly keen to receive applications for these new posts from serial entrepreneurs who are passionate about sharing their experience of getting it right in business, and indeed in getting it wrong. We need our new recruits to be role models for a new wave of talented tech entrepreneurs that – as part of a burgeoning community – will help to elevate the profile and perception of the city as a whole.”

The selected entrepreneurs will work with games developers and tool companies along with outfits from numerous other technology industries.
