Dates arranged for studio visit

Blitz opens doors to aspiring developers

Blitz Games Studios has set the date and begun registration for its annual open days event.

The days are for students interested in getting into the game industry and will be run on the 2nd, 23rd and 30th March next year.

Blitz said the events will offer a broad introduction to the range of skills and talent involved in creating games, as well as a studio tour and opportunities to talk with development staff.

Event co-ordinator Kim Blake said: “We offering students from many different disciplines the chance to visit a successful games studio and talk to real game developers about what they do and how they do it.

“It’s also a great way to publicise the fantastic work produced by the creative industries in the UK and the importance of next gen skills to the UK economy.”

The studio said the first two open days will be for 2nd and final year students interested in any of the main development disciplines.

The last day of the event, meanwhile, will focus on game design and programming and is open to students of any year.

Blitz design director John Nash said: “As more people want to play a bigger range of games on an ever-growing number of platforms, we need a new generation of imaginative, practical and flexible designers to help us create the very best in future entertainment.”
