Blizzard has aggressively expanded its European Support Centre in the Irish city of Cork.
The facility opened in 2007 with the aim to provide some 100 jobs by 2010. Today it employs 600.
This has resulted in the publisher recently sign a new agreement with national development agency IDA Ireland to further improve the studio.
New support tools, technologies and training routines will be implemented at the facility to “enhance productivity and customer experience”.
“The Cork centre has played an integral role in providing support to our European players,” said Blizzard Entertainment COO Paul Sams.
“With the help of IDA Ireland, it has greatly exceeded our initial expectations. This new agreement with IDA Ireland will help us maintain a dedicated workforce there that corresponds to the ongoing European service requirements for World of Warcraft as well as our upcoming games.”
The support centre is open 365 days a year provides European customers with technical and billing support across the publisher’s catalogue of games. The centre’s workforce has the collective capacity to speak and write in 25 different languages over the phone, via email, across forums and within in-game chat.
