Team Bondi figurehead to discuss MotionScan tech

Brendan McNamara booked for UK return

Brendan McNamara is due to make his first public appearance since his studio, Team Bondi, was engulfed by allegations of brutal working conditions.

Team Bondi, which had built the majority of Rockstar’s LA Noire game, was placed into administration earlier this month.

The studio’s extraordinary fall from grace began after some ex employees alleged they had been forced to work evenings and weekends to ensure the LA Noire project is finished on time.

McNamara, who found himself at the centre of the crunch scandal, will return to the spotlight this November at the Bradford Animation Festival.

He is set to speak at the event in a session called ‘Bringing Humanity to Games’.

The event organiser said Brendan will “explain the processes and pitfalls of using MotionScan facial motion capture to create the hit game LA Noire”.

Though Team Bondi has been placed into administration, Brendan’s separate MotionScan business is thought to be fully operational.

It had been rumoured that many Team Bondi staff, including McNamara himself, have been hired at Australian animation and games groups KMM.
