Trade body welcomes UK-based free-to-play giant

Candy Crush creator King joins UKIE

King is the latest company to join the Association for United Kingdom Interactive Entertainment – or UKIE, as we all know it.

The firm is obviously best known as the creator of Candy Crush Saga, Farm Heroes Saga and various other free-to-play Match 3 puzzlers with ‘Saga’ in the title.

King is the 54th company to join UKIE since September 2013, as the trade body continues to expand its membership.

"We’re delighted to be joining UKIE," said King’s chief legal officer Rob Miller. "The interactive entertainment and games development industry is growing rapidly. At King, we believe in helping to foster an active and healthy gaming community. We’re looking forward to working with UKIE and with other members from the industry."

UKIE CEO Jo Twist added: "We are delighted to have King join us as a global leader in the mobile and tablet game space, and to having them help us shape the future of the UK games industry. All our members benefit from new members joining the family, and we welcome King to a network that supports, promotes and grows all games business and our sector as a whole, on a national and international stage."
