Studio also disputes "overblown vision" of Witcher III allegedly created by PR

CD Projekt Red responds to ‘year of crunch’ claim

An anonymous NeoGAF user accused CD Projekt Red of imposing a year-long crunch, and in a rare turn of events, the studio responded. Sort of.

Posting about The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, the user criticised others for "painting CD Projekt Red as some magical dev studio with only the best interests of the games in mind. Trust me they are not".

According to GameSpot, the anonymous NeoGAF member has been "vetted and cleared" by the forum’s administrators, suggesting this could be a current or former CDP employee.

The user posted: "The bullsh*tting with The Witcher III started from day one. PR is creating an overblown vision of a game that doesn’t exist while the team is in crazy crunch time for over a year now."

CD Projekt Red’s communications exec Michal Platkow-Gilewski issued a statement to GameSpot disputing this.

"In principle, we don’t comment on rumours, especially when someone anonymous says that it’s ‘his/her word against CDP PR’," he wrote.

"PR aside, if you have any doubts about Wild Hunt’s quality, have a look at the 35-minute gameplay video we published some time ago, or check out gamers’ reactions to our public previews at Gamescom, San Diego Comic Con and E3 – it’s all public and available on the studio’s YouTube channel – and decide for yourself."

Develop saw a live demonstration of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt at Gamescom. It’s looking bloody good.
