Content marketplace and showcase includes indie games expo, private pitch meetings and workshop conference sessions

Countdown to Interface: New games industry event begins in London on May 14th

There are just over three weeks to go until Interface, the brand new pitching and content event for the games business.

Taking place on May 14th at the Candid Arts Trust near Angel tube in central London, Interface is brought to you by the teams behind Develop and MCV.

Starting today, we’re publishing a series of daily features on the event and its key themes: securing finance and pitching your ideas to partners, showcasing your games and products to the rest of the business, and overall survival advice for growing games firms in the UK.

We start today with a recap of the event’s news so far, including an FAQ and more details.

Tomorrow, we announce our keynote speaker for the day’s accompanying conference/workshop sessions.

Further down the line we will speak to the firms attending for their advice on striking up new business, and detail other event highlights.

Already, we have confirmed involvement from over 60 games firms, with major backing from engine technology firm Unity (as Indie Zone partner) and Pollen VC (as Live Stage partner).

Other highlights from the day-long event include:

  • The following signed to take part as exhibitors, and/or registered for private meetings: Grey Wizard, Grandline Studios, Temple Games, Player Research, Indigo Pearl, 505 Games, Green Man Loaded, Yippee, Total Eclipse, Freekstorm, Pixelbits, Antstream, MHT Game and Deuce.
  • A curated Indie Zonepresented by Unity will welcome a further 10 studios and their games to the event.
  • Interface also has delegates signed up from a number of indie studios from across the UK including: Aniode, Butcherlab, Triangular Pixels, Hybrid Tech, Ground Shatter, Altered Gene, PixelBits, Abyssal Arts, The Great Unwashed, Semaeopus, Studio Pepwuper, Playrise Digital, QuizTix, I Fight Bears, Mudvark, Mbryonic and The Third Moon.
  • Plus, we have a number of unannounced titles and studios set for appearance in private demos for publishers and potential partners.

Interface will connect developers of all sizes, start-ups and creators of new games with investors and backers – there are also planned breakout sessions on topics like better business practices and areas for studios looking to recruit, plus networking and lounge spaces.

Key to the day is the Interface Meeting System, which connects studios and new games with potential publishers and investors – you register for the system (either as a delegate with a pitch or a meeting host) and we arrange your schedule for you.
