Daybreak opens submissions for $10,000 Gamers In Real Life scholarship

Applications for the ninth Gamers In Real Life (GIRL) scholarship have been opened by Daybreak.

The competition, which began in 2008 when the studio was Sony Online Entertainment, offers undergraduate students the chance to win $10,000 towards tuition and educational fees, as well as the opportunity to intern at Daybreak for eight weeks.

This year’s theme centres around ‘Art and Design’, with entrants asked to submit two pieces of concept or 3D art based on Daybreak’s games EverQuest, PlanetSide, H1Z1 and Landmark.

Any undergrad aged over 18 with an average GPA of 3.0 or higher studying a games-related subject at an accredited US university is eligible.

Submissions close on June 3rd.
