Could you introduce your company to our readers who might not know your role or goals?
OPM is a specialist recruitment consultancy in the games and interactive entertainment industries. We’ve been around since 1998 and in that time we’ve established a diverse portfolio of clients from all corners of the globe.

What distinguishes your company from similar outfits? In other words, what’s unique about your organisation?
We are divisionalised internally to service all areas of business from development, publishing through distribution both boxed and online. Each specific sector has a dedicated consultant, if you are an artist looking for work you will speak to our art consultant, if you are a marketing manager you will speak to our marketing consultant, and so on. We also offer a self-employed PAYE funded temp service within Europe, contract and permanent roles worldwide.

Our difference is our personal service. For us it’s all about the people, be it the client or the candidate. We’ve established and nurtured the relationships with our true business partners for the past 15 years and shall always put them first.

What excites and/or encourages you about the games industry today?
The diversity. We speak to different people working on completely different projects every day. With so many platforms and completely different target audiences, there has never been so much room for creativity as there is now. Not to forget the exciting times we have ahead with the core console development side of things.

Looking at the Develop Awards finalists, what does it say to you about today’s games industry?
It’s great to see such a variety of studios up for the awards. It’s been a difficult few years for our industry with many companies not surviving, meaning a lot of people being made redundant. It’s nice to see new studios emerging and being successful, as well as some of the older ones still doing well.

Do you have a message for the Develop Awards finalists?
Good luck of course! As ever we are looking forward to the awards tremendously, it’s a great night for all those involved and we are always proud to be a part of it.

Was there anything else you wanted to say about your company or the Develop Awards?
We really hope we win! We’ve worked incredibly hard through the toughest years the recruitment industry has ever known, and we believe we totally deserve it. The commitment, loyalty, optimism and belief in the company and how we work has been delightful, and there can’t be a better reward. Thank you if you voted, we really do appreciate it.

The Develop Awards will take place on July 10th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton, just one week away.
