Industry professionals can now register interest to host lectures

Develop Conference 2011: Call for speakers

Europe’s leading game development conference will return to Brighton in July, and organiser Tandem has begun its search for leading stars to speak at the event.

Last year the Develop Conference hosted lectures from the likes of Tim Schafer, Peter Molyneux and BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk.

Around 1,300 game development professionals walked in to the Brighton Metropole to hear over 80 quality lectures given by international development experts.

The conference was also at the centre of a national debate on game tax breaks, featuring a Q&A session with Culture Minister Ed Vaizey, who tried to explain why the Coalition Government scrapped the initiatives. BBC News, national print and the BBC Politics Show had covered the event.

The sixth annual Develop Conference in Brighton runs from Tuesday July 19th to Thursday 21st. Delegates can submit their proposals for conference sessions via the online form at www.developconference.com

On Wednesday July 20th, the industry will come together for the eighth annual Develop Industry Excellence Awards – Europe’s most respected games awards event. Inquiries should be made to Kathryn.humprey@intentmedia.co.uk

Develop magazine and Develop-Online is to cover the whole event extensively across its three days.

“One of the things that really sets Develop in Brighton apart is the range of topics that are covered and their relevance to creating games for the here and now,” said Tandem Events managing director Andy Lane.

“It’s really important that developers can help shape the conference and by submitting a talk and sharing their experiences, they can do just that”.
