Digit Game Studios secures multi-million dollar investment

Digit Game Studios has secured multi-million dollar investment from US mobile game publisher Scopely.

The news means the Dublin-based developer has kick-started a recruitment drive to bring in 40 new staff, tripling its number of employees.

Vacancies include visual effects artist, 3D animator, level designer, lead game designer, QA lead, project manager, lead Unity developer, lead game analyst and a number of other roles. You can view 26 of the vacancies on the Develop Jobs page.

As well as continuing development on its debut release, fantasy MMO Kings of the Realm, the studio is set to start work on a new game based on a “world-leading triple-A IP”.

“Content is the richest source of value in this industry and we are delighted to have significant opportunity to create a lot of it,” said Digit Game Studios CEO Richard Barnwell.

“We are adding to our team to help us do just that. In addition to Kings of the Realm, we are scaling up our studio to launch an all-new title with iconic, world-leading triple-A IP, that has a chance to be huge.”

Scopely chief revenue officer added: "Digit clearly have some bold ambitions and the development approach they have exhibited to date is impressive – they boast an accomplished and engaged international team who have managed to build a fresh gaming experience from the ground up. We believe they are emerging as a leader in mobile strategy games.”
