Doom developer id Software has opened a new studio in Frankfurt, Germany.
The team will act as an extension of its Texas HQ. It will focus on developing the idTech game engine used for Doom and games in development at other studios.
Publisher ZeniMax has said it is actively hiring for the new studio. Current openings include audio programmer, senior engine programmer, senior physics programmer and senior tools programmer.
Develop has just covered Frankfurt’s game development hub in depth in the latest issue of the magazine. Its studio’s currently include Deck13, Crytek and Cloud Imperium’s Foundry42 studio – an extension of its Manchester operations.
