Fans select four prototypes; live streamed jam begins at 2PM

Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight games chosen

Voting has come to a close for the next four prototypes to make the cut at Double Fine’s Amnesia Fortnight jam.

Amnesia Fortnight is an annual event at the studio that calls upon the developers to forget what they were working on, and spend two weeks brainstorming and building prototypes for their next games.

This year a partnership with the Humble Bundle has made it possible for fans to participate by chosing which ideas would become fully-fledged prototypes, and then watching them be built via a livestream.

Contributors will recieve all completed prototypes.

With the last ballots cast, Humble Bundle has revealed the four games chosen from the original 23 are Autonomous, Hack n’ Slash, Spacebase DF-9, and The White Birch.

Autonomous, by art director Lee Petty, is an "eighties-inspired" first-person sandbox construction game in which players navigate a futuristic junkyard and construct automatons to do their bidding.

Hack n’ Slash is the brainchild of coder Brandon Dillon that teaches players to hack, cheat, and exploit their way through an old-school "Hack n’ Slash" Zelda-type game.

Spacebase DF-9 by lead designer JP LeBreton is a Dwarf Fortress-inspired space station sim that apparently gives players the chance to share the emergent stories from the game via some sort of social mechanic.

Art director Andy Wood has contributed The White Birch, an atmospheric game that seeks to be reminiscent of Journey and Ico, telling the story of a young girl who must climb a tower to escape a dangerous forest and claim a prize.

The prototyping process will be livestreamed at the Humble Bundle website begining at 2PM PST.
