Almost 90,000 supporters back old school adventure game

Double Fine Kickstarter finishes at $3.3m

The Double Fine Kickstarter has closed, raising an astonishing $3.3 million in thirty-five days.

Launched on February 8th, the project shattered records for the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, and attracted over a million dollars of investment in its first twenty-four hours.

In total, the adventure game campaign received $3,336,371 from 87,142 backers, and has raised serious questions in the industry about standard practice for big publishers, who have refused to back similar projects proposed by Double Fine founder Tim Schafer.

The project forums will open soon, giving backers an inside look at the game in production.
