Electronic Arts has thrown its development weight behind Nokia's new mobile games platform, and has a number of new games in the works for the service's 2007 launch.

EA making games for next-gen Nokia handsets

Yesterday the companies – the world’s largest games developer and the world’s largest handset maker – allied forces for the distribution of back catalogue titles such as The Sims 2 and Tetris to current handsets.

However Nokia also plans to introduce the full version of a games distribution service, which relies on over-the-air delivery of titles to its smartphones, early next year – and it will work with EA on introducing new games for the service, raising game quality and creating a reliable service.
