Qube Software's engine to drive QA firm's development drive

EC-I picks Q

EC-I, a developer and QA specialist based in London and Mumbai, is the latest studio to sign up as a licensee of Qube’s Q engine.

The studio, which has over seventy staff across its two bases, has a long history in QA with over 350 titles under its belt. Its development side has previously been active on the DS and Game Boy Advance and is currently gearing up to start projects on the PC, PS2, PSP and Wii, particularly targeting the Indian market which it feels has been under-served.

“Q’s big attraction is that it works on any platform with floating point support and it lends itself to any game genre,” said EC-I’s founder and Managing Director Rupert Young.

“This is an important step for us. Not only are we taking our game development onto PCs and consoles but we’re also expanding our testing services. We looked at the options and concluded that Q is the only engine offering a future-proof solution that works rights across every single pipeline in a big studio."

He added: “Good developers are always at a premium. With Q, we can deploy their skills on any project, at any time. It makes our workforce highly flexible and that allows us to deliver on time while maintaining high standards and keeping costs down.”
