The man behind Xbox and Microsoft Games Studios joins growing list of event speakers

Ed Fries to keynote Nordic Game

Ed Fries, the man who built Microsoft’s console and games studio businesses, has been announced as a keynote speaker for this year’s Nordic Game event.

Fries will join industry notables from the likes of PopCap, Insomniac, Honeyslug, NaturalMotion and CCP – all of which will speak at the three-day event.

Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner will also deliver a keynote speech.

Nordic Game runs from May 10th to 13th in Malmo, Sweden.

Fries started his career in the games industry 1982. During his eighteen years at Microsoft, he helped form Microsoft Game Studios and launch the Xbox across the world.

Fries left Microsoft in 2004 and went on to become an advisor, consultant and board member for various companies – most recently being Mixamo.

He revealed his story of launching the Xbox last year.
