Scheme aims to 'strengthen industry and academia links' in the UK

Education-matching service launched by Tiga

Tiga has launched a new education-matching service to connect its university and college members with guest lecturers from the industry, the trade body has announced.

Tiga said the aim of the scheme is to intensify industry and academia links, promote knowledge transfer and enhance the quality of higher education provision, particularly to those lacking connections.

It added that guest lecturers would be available to educational institutions from areas such as art, animation, audio, programming and QA.

“The UK video games industry competes on the basis of its highly skilled workforce,” said Tiga CEO Richard Wilson.

“This new service will benefit the video games industry, students and universities and colleges.”

Sony audio director Garry Taylor added that the service would also help participating companies identify potential employees and allow them to learn more about developments in higher education.

Tiga education members can view the full list of guest lecturers on the trade body’s website.
