New jobs created at 3D visualisation studio, while eight Eutechnyx staff have entered consultation

Eutechnyx shrinks further as ZeroLight gains 22 employees

Auto Club Revolution developer Eutechnyx has lost more staff to its sister firm ZeroLight as the studio continues to restructure.

ZeroLight is a company that specialises in 3D visualisation – primarily for the car industry, creating virtual showrooms to demonstrate cars to potential buyers.

22 new jobs have been created at ZeroLight, some of which have been filled by former Eutechnyx staff, according to GamesIndustry. The site also reports that eight Eutechnyx staff have entered consultation with a week’s notice.

Rumours persist that Eutechnyx is closing down, due to the lacklustre performance of Auto Club Revolution and the studio decision to sell of the NASCAR assets last year, but the studio insists this is not the case.

“Eutechnyx isn’t closing, and ZeroLight is growing rapidly,” marketing director Jason Collins told the site. “The moving of team members from Eutechnyx to our other company ZeroLight is to help us satisfy demand for our ZeroLight solutions. As we had the pleasure of reporting with you last year, we’ve successfully innovated to bring our games technology and techniques to the car industry and beyond.

“Eutechnyx currently employs over 30 people, plus the individuals in TUPE discussions, plus those in the consultation period, so over 60 in total who currently work for Eutechnyx. Eutechnyx and ZeroLight are totally separate companies, but there are currently 28 people in ZeroLight, excluding those individuals in TUPE discussions.”

Collins went on to explain that Eutchenyx’s China arm has been unaffected, and is currently “evaluating distribution proposals for ACR on PC around the globe”. The company is also looking at more mobile opportunities for Auto Club Revolution following last year’s ACR Drift.

ZeroLight became a separate entity last July, taking some Eutechnyx staff with it. It followed more layoffs at the start of 2014.
