Dan Adelman announces action platformer Axiom Verge

Ex-Nintendo indie boss working on PlayStation exclusive title

The man previously in charge of working with independent developers at Nintendo has revealed he is making his own title – for PlayStation.

Former Nintendo employee Dan Adelman announced his involvement in the development of Axiom Verge via his blog. The title is a Metroid/Castlevania-style action platformer, and will be released "solely for PlayStation", according to Gamasutra.

Axiom Verge is being developed by Tom Happ, a Petroglyph Games employee making independent games in his spare time. The title has been in production for five years, with Happy recently devoting his full time to it.

The game will be released for PlayStation 4 and Vita, with a Steam version also in the works.

"I’ve known Nick Suttner, Adam Boyes, Brian Silva and many of the other Sony folks for a few years now, and I’m really excited to be working directly with them," Adelman wrote.

"Although I will always have a special place in my heart for Nintendo, this game is solely focused on PlayStation."

Adelman quit his position at Nintendo back in August.
