First GDC Europe sessions announced

The organisers behind GDC Europe have revealed the first wave of speakers for this year’s conference, which takes place this August.

Leading the way is a talk by AMD’s Stephan Hodes on the future of graphics APIs, weighing up the advantages of Microsoft’s DX12 and Vulkan, the new API unveiled at GDC 2015 as the successor to OpenGL.

Also of interest will be a session with Phil Mansell of Jagex on using analytics effectively, and Ubisoft’s Vanden Berghe on how game elements affect player motivation.

Finally Croteam’s Alen Ladavac will discuss how fast iteration tools helped in the production of The Talos Principle.

You can find more information on the conference programme via GDC Europe’s website.

The event takes place at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany and runs from Monday August 3rd to August 4th, followed shortly by Gamescom.

Passes are now available, with a saving of €200 for anyone that books an All Access Pass before July 8th. After this, the price rises to €795 – or €895 if purchased on site.
